Front of house and back of house
They are different jobs hired on different criteria. Front of house is hired on how you deal with people; back of house on whether you can keep up during a rush. Applying for the wrong one because the title was vague wastes everyone's time.
What actually gets you hired
Availability, and turning up to the trial shift. Most kitchens will take someone with no experience who is reliable over someone with experience who is not. If you have never worked in a kitchen, say you are willing to start on prep or dish — that is the normal way in.

Search restaurant for the whole field, or a specific role like line cook or barista. Keep the distance tight — this is work you will travel to several times a week, often at hours with no public transport.
